I received the call a week ago from Michelle at MVP. - 800-418-7703 ext 806. No matter what time you call to speak to her she is never in the office. I asked for proof of what I owe when speaking to a Ms. Gonzalez she stated that my request would be referred to the client and it could take 3-6 weeks or 3-6 months for that information to come back. She advised my account was in a holding status until the dispute was resolved. Unbelievable. I am so happy that I googled them.
Just got a call at 7:43a with the same message. Why can't they say who they are representing. This is wrong. This is a scam. Something needs to de done.
I received the same call today stating the same thing. Stated that I have a wage garnishment that is scheduled for a loan that was written ff in 2014. The company name was MVP Customer Solutions, stated to that the balance was $989.00, but they could offer me a settlement of $369.00 to stop the garnishment. I hung up. The phone number was 1-800-418-7703 ext. 807 Ms. Parkly. Sounds like a scam to me, but not sure.
I just listened to a voice mail message asking me to contact them for a wage garnishment that was sent to them, to call this same # and speak to Mrs. Pressley
Were you notified of a court case by certified mail or served personally? Did you lose or fail to go? Because that is the only way they can garnish wages(assuming state law allows it). They need to go to court and win their case, obtain a judgement, and then have the judge sign off on it.
This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number. Please note that process servers do not ever call ahead. That way you can’t dodge them.
