Just telling them NOT to call you when they call doesn't cover you according to the letter of the law (I mean, if you said it on the phone - did the conversation REALLY take place?).

You have to put the request on paper, mail it to their address certified mail, return receipt requested (it costs $4.12)- and keep copies of everything you send them.
THEN, if they continue to call when you told them not to or if they continue to call you at work when you told them not to or if you told them specifically only to call during certain hours and they continue to call outside those hours - you can sue them for $1,000 PER OCCURANCE.
BUT,and this is super important; you have to keep accurate call logs of any calls, any person who leaves their name, any messages left, who you might have talked to...and don't just let it go on to incur the fines. Give them one week after they received your first letter and if they keep calling, send them another letter certified mail and give them one more week but up the ante and tell them you will file a complaint with a lawyer (or you can do it yourself, if you're confident enough). Give them a few days after they receive the second letter and if they persist - then contact an attorney or draft a small claims complaint (or sometimes, because they are REALLY dumb about FDCPA law, or just hopeful you are - your complaint may be higher in your state than small claims can file, you need to file complaint in circuit court).

If you have any doubts about doing this yourself, get help - an attorney is preferable. And keep meticulous notes and records - every scrap of information is helpful.

I was calling them to make a payment. They added on Insurance to my account and I already have Insurance I waiting for them to make the adjustment. I called them all they did was laugh and play games. Saying that when I give them the info they want then I can talk to a supervisor. I did not have the account info apparently they must know their is no way of tracking what they say or do because the had complete immunity to say whatever they wanted. Gee I only asked for a Manager 20 times.... and I was actually trying to make a payment. " I axed you for yo infor" They keep Calling me and its THEIR mistake I have the paperwork to prove It..

I will never finance anything with this company again. They have done the same with me. Adding insurance when I already have had continuous coverage. They are very rude when I call and act like I did something wrong. They call me days BEF0RE my payment is even due. My payments are on time. I can't understand how they can treat their customers so bad they are a nightmare to deal with.
