We have got to stop this fellow! Please share this info with family and friends. We should not have complete strangers trying to extort money from us by tugging at our heart strings. I am sorry for all that have given this fellow money. As for the person who calls these nice citizens, you will be discovered sooner or later and justice for EXTORTION Charges will be charged.
I highly doubt this is a Florida Hospital employee, I received a call from this number and I am personally a Florida Hospital employee. In fact I knew this was a scam from the minute it started because this guy "Jason" told me he was a paramedic calling from Florida Hospital South in the ED (the exact location I work).
This number called me today while i was at work, saying they were from florida hospital and that my dad had been in a car accident and was unconscious and that i was listed as his emergency contact (i'm one of his daughters) and that my mom hadn't been answering so they called me and they asked me if i was over 18 and if i had a credit car and if i had this type of car that that was the car that my dad had been driving when he got in a car crash and ran over a 16 year old on a motorcycle and the 16 was the callers little brother and needed 4000 dollars to get medical treatment and if i didnt pay that he'd shoot my dad, in the background there was a bunch of white noise and people speaking spanish and then in spanish he called out to someone and said to shoot him that i wasn't going to pay and he hung up.
they had me on the phone for close to 10 minutes and i could've gotten fired
GOT A CALL FROM THE SAME # TODAY, SAME B.S. STORY. HIS COVER WAS BLOWN IN A FEW SECONDS AND THE PROFANITY BEGAN. i CALLED THE # BACK USING A DIFFERENT # AND THE SAME GUY ANSWERED AND LAUGHED. WHEN I INFORMED THE POLICE THEY SAID THEY WERE DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. WOW.
Got called a few minutes ago by this same number asking me the same thing as other people. Telling me I need to go to Florida Hospital South. So I asked who do ask for when I get there. They said they will call me back. Well if you looked up the license plate and see me as a contact person. Then you should know the driver's name. What idiots! They contacted a person who does not know vehicles. But knows what color each member of the family drives. Let's see if this stupid person calls back. People be warned.
