We have got to stop this fellow! Please share this info with family and friends. We should not have complete strangers trying to extort money from us by tugging at our heart strings. I am sorry for all that have given this fellow money. As for the person who calls these nice citizens, you will be discovered sooner or later and justice for EXTORTION Charges will be charged.
What can we do do catch this person...playing on our fears is sick...emt? Really...first of all...a hospital or police would not say..well never mind and hang up...they would give details...don't give addresses out...lets catch this @$$hole....
I received the same call!!! What an animal! Said I was an emergency contact and the guy was unconscious in a Nissan altima. He described the person and everything! He even mentioned a local road I was driving on! Wtf!! I'm calling the police tomorrow.
I got a call from this number. Details are much like those in the comments above. I'd like to know how the jerk got my cell number. I also wish he could be arrested. His main thrust was to acquire from me another emergency contact number. Why, I don't know. He couldn't tell me the name of the person who was "unconscious and in critical condition" because the police hadn't released that information. (Right.) He couldn't tell me the location of the accident. He wanted me to answer his questions but he wouldn't answer mine. He's got my name now in addition to my number, but that's all (which I hope doesn't lead to any difficulty). The call sounds legitimate at first; it's only after you begin to ask questions that you become suspicious.
Anyone who can, should record the conversation with the extortionist. Then put the call up on Youtube. That way there would be another another way to locate these people. I'm sure it's somebody who works as an EMT or ambulance driver or someone connected with that industry. Someone might recognize the voice.
Just got a call like today. When pressed for more information he threatened me with the police. Then I said look at the car registration and tell me the name. Then he hung up on me. 407 cell phone.
