I just got one of these calls today. Same story about a free nights stay at a Hilton in Manhattan or Orlando. I WORK for Hilton but have no idea what this call is about. Dont trust it. I am reporting it to Hilton today.
Just got back from turning them in to the NatDoNotCall list. I learned that if you have not done business with a company in the last three years they are not supposed to be calling you. You are also supposed to call them and tell them to stop calling you or tell them when they call you. Since it is long distance and they keep you on hold for over 20 minutes I will not do that.
Sounds like Hilton Hotels needs to tighten security of personal information it gains from reservations, etc. I received mine-on cell-just at the close of business hours Friday (app 5:10pm). We did stay at a Charlotte, NC Hilton in December. I really think this is one more example of "consumer beware." We use a service, provide necessary personal information in good faith, and watch as overgrown companies lose, misplace, or sell this information. If you are the victim of identity fraud anytime soon, keep this incident in mind.
407-722-3532 just called for the 6th time in a week. He/She won't leave a message. Will someone please stop this Co. from calling. I am on a "no call" list.
same thing - called offering deals in orlando. i don't think i've ever stayed in a hilton hotel. I've contacted Hilton and my state AG. we'll see what happens. Oh, and I don't give my cell to hotels or very many other people actually. don't know how they got it. anyone out there reported to hilton? any responses?
