We got a call from this number today at 1:15 pm. My wife answered but no one replied. The caller ID was "Florida call". When I called back, a recording stated "We're sorry. You have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." This is the same as 407–987–5239. I have blocked both numbers on my Digitone call blocker, which I highly recommend.
I just got a call from this number but caller id had "Florida Call" on it. I didn't answer. I know people in Florida, but I let it go to voicemail. No message of course. What's the point of having a phone anymore? Wasting money on a service that harasses me everyday with this kind of crap or from bill collectors looking for people I don't know. I wish we had a way to pay phone service providers to only allow a list of people we know call us .
I believe it is illegal to run these scams on cell phones. You might want to look into switching to only a cell phone. One does wonder why the phone companies don't put a stop to this harassment. I pay extra for an unlisted number. When discussing this matter with Verizon, every time I mentioned the extra fee for an unlisted number, they stated, again and again, that all that does is keep your number out of their phone book. In other words, they have nothing to do with keeping unwanted calls from bothering you. If they were honest, they would point that out before you subscribe to that particular service. Another rip-off: VM is just another "shiny thing" that is a waste of money. If you have Caller ID, you can call back any missed numbers. The phone companies must be making money from this, as if people were stealing their services, they would put a stop to it. They would be outraged.
