I was called 10 minutes ago. I did answer and it was a recording saying that they have been monitoring my credit cards and if I had over $10,000 in debt I could qualify for a "55% reduction" in my debt. All I had to do was press 9 to speak to a rep. I pressed 9 and was transferred to a woman who sounded American and when I asked her about how much debt I had she hung up. I knew it was a scam from the start because I don't have any credit cards anymore. Both the recording and rep sounded American.
In NYC. Got the same thing as Macy just now. When the message asked if I'd like to speak to a representative, I said, "nope!" and hung up. I don't have any credit card debt. Complete scam.
