I received a phone call from this number, asking me for my bank checking account number for medicare card purpose. When I refused to give him the account number he sounded angry and blaming me as if I was weste-ing his time for not telling my account number. I hung up the phone on him since I smelled something fishy about his purpose to call.
Rec'd call from man with heavy accent re my Medicare information. I asked from where he was calling. By now he must be "gun shy." He immediately hung up.
They are preying on senior citizens. Called Medicare who gave us number of Inspector General at 800-447-8477 to call and report. BEWARE!
Called telling me they were going to be mailing me a new Medicare card and wanted to confirm my address. Before giving them any info, I asked why I needed a new card and they hung up..I see they have been doing this for a long time now. It must be working for them a lot of times!!! Sad..
My husband answered a call from 409-574-1214 from an Indian-sounding man who claimed he wanted to send a new medical insurance card to replace the Medicare card. He had our address and wanted to verify
information. My husband gave me the phone. I asked the man his name -- he said it was Maxwell. I asked if that was a first or last name. He replied Max Well was his full name. I said I would need to call him back to verify that he was really from Medicare. I asked where he was calling from (it's Saturday on a holiday weekend). He said he was calling from Florida and refused to give me his phone number. He said he would call again later. I said that I need to call him at his Medicare phone number. He called me BS and began screaming that I was BS, kept repeating it and he finally hung up.
