Received the same phone call. She had all my info except I did give bank name since she had routing number, etc. I asked how I knew she wasn't a scam and she gave me to her "safety and security officer" who admitted they were not the government they wanted to send us a package and 'we could decide." I told her I thought they were a scam and they had too much of my info already and she hung up. The "heavy accented 'Wilma" called back and I told her I thought she was a scam and she hung up. I then sent my bank an email because I wasn't sure if they could access anything or if she thought I should take some further action.
Caller with Indian or similar accent called telling my wife he was representing the SSA and Medicare to verify information regarding bank account etc..as new cards were going to issued and without the requested information she would lose her Medicare coverge and possibly her Social Security. She unwittingly gave him bank account data which required us to close the account immediately. After I had taken phone from the wife he called back from the above number and stated he already had enough data to access all of our accounts. A woman who initiated the call gave the wife the following return call numbers. 260-745-1025 and866-575-3459 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
