Received a call on my cell phone from 409-684-2263 on 9/21/15 @ 12:15 - didn't answer and no message. I'm used to getting these type calls on my land line - pissed that I'm now getting them on my cell phone.
Caller ID said, "Survey," the afternoon's been slow, so I answered. A pleasant-sounding recorded female voice identified herself as "Heather" with "account services department" calling about my (unspecified) credit card account. She assured me that there was no problem with the account but that I needed to act quickly to take advantage of an opportunity to lower my credit card's interest rate to 6%. I went ahead and pressed "1" for a live operator. I immediately asked him which of my cards they were calling about. "Er, Visa," he replied. "I don't have a Visa," I answered. "Do you have a MasterCard?" he asked. "Now you're just phishing," I replied, "and I shall report this ..." <click> He'd hung up on me. He did claim to be in Orlando, FL although the 409 area code is assigned to the Galveston-Beaumont, Tx area.
Same as above. Caller ID said Port Bolivar, TX but the guy said they were in Orlando. Asked for my full credit card number and expiration date, but when I kept asking for their physical address in Orlando he put a "supervisor" on the phone. That supervisor told me to "shut up, you f***ing loser" and hung up.
