Told me I was eligible to drop my rates to 1% percent I ask which card are they calling about they said MasterCard Visa and Discover, but I said which one and they said all of them I said no thank you this is a scam and put me on your Do Not Call list 409-684-2264 from

Received a call today on my cell phone from 409-684-2264. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST which is a joke. The FTC apparently has no enforcement powers. I do not answer calls that are not in my address book. No message was left.
Yep, just got "another" call from this number too.
So.... I decided to answer to see what's going on. Got the message I was number 10 in line - last month I answered and was #34 at that time but it moved up quickly.
Was #1 pretty fast when someone answered - a real person. She asked if I was interested in their services and I said "hell yeah" to see how far it would go.
She started going into her pitch (which I was recording) but I had to interrupt her twice to get her name before she finally told me it was, wait for it, wait for it - 'August'.
She asked my name and I said, wait for it - 'September'. Then she used my wife's first name and I knew I was on to something.
After asking if I owed more than $4 grand in credit card debt and I said "hell yeah" (which was a lie of course since we never carry a balance of more than a few hundred bucks), the woman, 'August,' hung up on me when she figured out that I was only trying to elicit info from her side... ahhh, but that was fun...
