I made the mistake during this past Presidential election of getting on the phone with and answering some political questions for these people who purported to be pollsters. The name they gave me matched the caller ID, and they asked me political questions so I thought it was legit. They said they were non partisan and gave a very nice speech about everyone having their voices heard. They asked for my name and personal info and I did not give that to them, but I did give them permission to call and ask for me and was recorded telling them it was ok. They told me they would use the term "lady of the house" when calling and asking for me as I would not give them my name.
After two more phone calls where they asked supposed poll questions, they then asked me for a donation. I told them that I liked the fact that they were non partisan and doing a service for the people, but that I needed to do some research on them since they were now asking for money. I do not give personal info over the phone to organizations that solicit me or my opinion, nor do I just hand over money or credit card info. Anyway, once I said I wanted to do some research, I got hung up on.
I decided to block them and research them because, to me, it was just a big bunch of BS, designed to raise money for a political organization. The fact that they used PAC in their name should have been a very strong signal, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Long story short, they are not non-partisan and are dishonest about it. They give money to liberal organizations and candidates, which is fine and their right, but they should be up front and honest about that instead of trying to trick people into donating for something perceived as "non partisan polling" when they are going to hand money over to a political candidate of their choosing, with their agenda. Please be aware.
They are very dishonest and will be hung up on and blocked every single time they call, no matter how many different numbers they use. I don't know if what they are doing is illegal, but something tells me they have found a way to get around some things that real polllsters and PAC's have to comply with. They are sneaky and shady and I would never willingly be involved with an organization like that intentionally. I don't think there is a need to be dishonest if what you are doing is above board, but that's politics for you. Be aware that they will ask you for money at some point. And that that money may go to someone or something that you do not support politically.
This is a person that has a political agenda with regard to the recent competition of the democraptic and repooplican chimpanzees' pooh flinging competition. All he wants is for you to donate money. Don't answer the phone, is an autodialer.
I just got a call from this number too. CID said "John inform ele". Thanks to the others who did research on this number, but I have a question. What kind of legitimate survey would use THAT as their CID handle? It smells pretty foul of human waiste trying to use a "legit" research tool to hide their nefarious activities. Basically, more scam artist looking for victims. Be safe out there folks.
When I answered I was greeted with "Hello, Is the man of the house there?" I was offended by the question anyway--who uses that old phrase any more? I momentarily thought of saying "speaking" in my most feminine sounding voice, or could've answered truthfully that my husband recently passed away, but just chose to say, "No" and hang up.
