I got a VM from this number stating that they were the IRS and that it was a "very time sensitive matter." When I called back I spoke to a gentleman who proceeded to ask for my criminal attorney's name as a lawsuit has been filed against me for back taxes. When I explained that I don't owe any back taxes and asked where he was calling from he replied, "India...why, don't you like people from India?" I said that wasn't the case and he then proceeded to say that he was my boyfriend and wouldn't I like him to come over and .... It was VERY bizarre. As if that weren't enough he then told me that actually he worked for MTV India and that they were "pranking" people and was I interested in being on the show? He seemed to be trying to keep me on the phone so I said I had another call and he said "what's the matter? You don't like talking to me?" I hung up. Strange, very strange.
Heard about this scam on talk radio on my way to work & glad I was listening. First of all this Nikki Johnson is such a scam to leave a message that's sounds like a computer generated voice. The IRS never calls anyone on the phone...... Period !!!!! This is a scam & by calling them back, well, they hang up on you. I hope they call again when I'm home cause I will tell them what freaking scumbags scammers they are & I'm sure they will hang up as fast as they can.... Scammer scumbags is all this is, don't be fooled by them, ask questions & watch how all you hear is the click of them hanging up.
I just checked my answering machine and there it was. Niki Johnson from the IRS warning me I was in trouble with the IRS.
Not possible so I wouldn't have fallen for it anyway, but my tax accountant had warned me months ago that this scam was going around and it would probably reach me. It did. But forwarned is forarmed..The 415 area code is the new twist.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
