called on a computer voice saying they were IRS threatning if I don't call back they will take legal action. I called number back male answerd sounded like he was from india trying to scare me started talking what is your name and so on then asked for my social security number so I told him if your from IRS don't you already have that info. then I told him I was calling police that did not bother him so he was getting upset and then started talking about asama bin laden being resurrected and other weired things so I hung up. the number was 415-234-9598 and my phone said navato California.
I got the same message--distorted female voice, from the IRS, I need to call back before they take action, they leave the call back number twice, then a sweet salutation. I called back three times. The first time I got through and a man with an Indian/Pakistani accent answered saying it was the IRS. I hung up because I had not yet listened to the message at that point. After listening to the message I called again and got a message that said the person I was trying to reach was not available. Later, I called back a third time (same day as the previous two calls) and got this advertisement to go online and get free calling from a company called Magic Jack. I've called back several times since and get the same ad each time. Very frustrating to be hassled so!
