Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
I got a transcript on Google Voice but no actual recorded message. Strange. It states Officer Julie Smith of the Internal Revenue Service. Either myself or retain an attorney to return the call before they take action against me. My name is never given nor is there any documentation of a case. Yeah, it's a scam. I don't think I'll be calling them back, I'll take my chances that they'll take action. Bet they don't.
also received recorded voice mail from "IRS" requesting urgent call back. i called back and a lady answered with an accent, appeared to me asian accent, whereby she did not identify herself as an irs agent nor did she provide a name, basically she hung up on me. i called again a few minutes later inquiring for their website address and a man answered and stated "don't you know you're calling the irs, i'm going to call the sheriff to arrest you" i asked for what reason, and he hung up on me. sounds like a complete hoax to me
Received a call on Saturday 11/15/14 The woman left a voicemail stating she was from IRS and I should call before they take action against me. Said not to call the IRS hotline but to call this number instead.. Smell fishy to me so I won't be calling anytime soon.. BEWARE of this SCAM...
I also got a call but when I tried to call the number back it says the voicemail box is full. I know its a scam for sure for a few reasons; it's Saturday, they didn't say my name in the voicemail, no reference or case number, and the call back number is a cell phone I believe.
