Scam. IRS? I'd read about this elsewhere--online news article. Medicare, Medicaid, IRS, Obamacare, etc.
Cut the call in first few seconds, back checked. Viola! Scam confirmed.
Received several calls from 415-234-9651. Automated message said to call Julie Smith back at this number. Called back and said they were "Investigative Department of IRS". I knew it was a scam so challenged them on it and they hung up. They have called again.
Got the same call from an automated Julie Smith. When I called back the Indian answered and said she was not available and he needed additional information. When I refused to give information over the phone he cursed and hung up.
They called me asked who my criminal attorney was and said I was going to be arrested if I did,nt pay some back taxes from 7 years ago, the said they had sent me certified letters ect. My husband and I are both on disability but I was scared, even though I always have my taxes prepared by professionals, I said well go ahead and have me arrested because I don't have 4,ooo dollars and I now realize it is a scam DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!!! he said he was Officer Mark Williamson but he sounded Indian, some type of fear tactic tell them to [***] and hang up.
