We get such calls regularly. My wife works at night and tries to sleep during the day, so we're really upset about it. I finally called the phone company and paid for call blocking. It costs $3.95 a month and blocks only 12 calls, but I put these people on it tonight.
Thank you for providing a contact number that reaches a live person. The man who answered apologized and said that their phones are programmed to hang up after 30 seconds without a response. I'm sure I have picked up in less than 30 seconds at times and there has been no one at the other end. He said that they are a fund raising company and that, in my case, they were soliciting on behalf of the Democratic Party. I'm not sure whether this is true or whether he just wants me to be annoyed at the Democratic party.
If you still get the calls, go through the BBB and file a report with them. I did some research through the BBB website and the charity/business has multiple complaints and is not even good.
