Thank you very much for this info. I too am receiving calls from this number. They never leave a message a continue to call. I don't answer unknown numbers & figure, if it was important they'd leave a message.
Actually a lot of them don't because they are worried about being sued under the FDCPA for leaving too much information. I normally answer because that starts my rights. Tell them you refuse to talk to them until and if you receive the first letter detailed in my above post. Tell them not to call you back until they send that letter out and you have had time to receive it. Then immediately send them a certified, return receipt letter telling them to validate the debt. Most of them won't because they can't. Also file those complaints the proper agencies.
Debt collectors try to collect anything they can from anyone they can. In most cases the debt doesn't even exist. Your name gets put on a list when you assert your rights and know the law. They pass it around-"do not mess with this person".
