Received a call from a man with a Indian accent who kept asking if I was -- he gave a name. Asked him who he was and where he was calling from and he said his name was Martin and he was calling about BMW car insurance. Hung up. Sounds like a scam.
Received a call from this number. He said the name of the company but his accent was so thick I couldn't understand. Asked for my boss, when I asked what it was regarding he fumbled through some statement and said his boss Vincent was on hold for him. When I asked who Vincent was and what his business was he said he was not at liberty to share that information. I told him I would not transfer him through but would take a message and my boss would call back if he was interested. At this point the caller stated he would have to call back with information about what it was that Vincent wanted. Fortunately this caller was at least polite. The majority of these callers who try this tactic are extremely rude and try to make you feel like you're making a mistake by not sending the call through.
We have been receiving multiple calls from this number at work. They asked for Casey *********** and when my secretary transferred it to me they asked me if this was Cassie *****. I asked who wanted to know. They said they were calling on behalf of someone. I asked what it was in regards to and they said they were not aware of the contents of the message. I believe what they were trying to do was get my voice recording of me saying "My name is Casey ************" and they were also trying to get a voice recording of me saying "Yes". They in turn use the voice recording to get personal information from my banks and institutions. They already know where I work which is scary enough. I am reporting this number to the feds.
