DO NOT ANSWER PHONE....DO NOT CALL BACK....THEY DON'T CARE..
THEY ARE FISHING FOR VIABLE PHONE NUMBERS AND WHEN YOU ANSWER THAT JUST VERIFIES YOU OWN THE PHONE......DON'T PRESS "1". Either . That lets them get more info....they then sell your number to other companies and you wind up getting more calls. It's annoying for sure but just let it ring, after awhile calls will decrease....I only get maybe 3 a week. Now...just steel yourself, don't answer, check your caller ID. Most of the time they are robocalls....why do you think most don't speak.....they just want viable numbers which you give them when you answer or call back.
Young woman said "Crown Financial Ministries, wanted to thank-you for your past participation, & wanted to share some important information with you".
Had a call last Friday, 11/27/12, man said he was from 'Crown Financial Ministries, & had a or some year-end GRANTS to talk to the person who handles the CFM stuff, but when I started to question exactly what he was talking about, he said he would call my husbands' number (he never has yet) & hung up. I checked the phone number on-line, also Crown on their site, & read about scammers pretending to send money to a person, but they had TO PAY FEES FIRST & GIVE UP IMPORTANT FINANCIAL INFO BEFORE RECEIVING THE MONEY!! the number for this call was California 858-412-0172, also 909-366-4126 was on my phone as a California call, left no message.
Was left a message that said "Whom am I talking to is good now." then hung up. number on id is 415-669-5685
Would it be illegal if I had answered the call and told them that "At this moment this recorded harassing call is being forwarded to the local police dept."?
I received a call from this number today but I did not answer. They left no message. I do not answer calls for 800 numbers or phone numbers which I can not identify as legitimate. The caller ID said that it was from Point Reyes, Ca. It must be a scam call.
