Found a recorded message from a strongly accented man named Sam Taylor warning me of a time sensitive IRS matter. I returned the call and he asked me for my attorneys name and told me I would be served papers regarding criminal tax evasion in two days. I would be arrested on the following day. I was told I could post a $3,000 bond at that time or go to prison for a minimum of 6 months. I used this web site to trace the number and confirm the scam, which was recognized by my brother.
got a call from a foreign man saying he was from the irs at work gave a ref # and agent name eric jones said must call immediatly when gets home its a scam for info
I recieved a call from this number stating the call was from tax litigation dept. There is no such thing anywhere online. Googled number and found hundreds of complaints against number. Found out it is a cell phone number and a definite scam. The person threatened .leagal action and was using threatening tactics to try and get personal information and get you to send them money. Beware of these scams and protect yourself by not giving them any info. 100% scam!
Caller called trying to say they were from the IRS. I told them exactly what I had owed, that I had paid it and had all the receipts to prove that. Asked why I had not received a notice that I under paid and were I made a mistake the person did not know How to respond. He gave me a reference number and started to threaten that I was to be in court. I told him that I would be contacting him tomorrow through the IRS number online and he hung up......Obviously if every one starts calling them out on this scam they will stop.
