Got same call from "Trey" with a heavy indian/Pakistani accent - I asked for documentation, local IRS telephone number etc... no response just a long long statement.  I asked for specific years when the issue was detected and his response was 'last few years' I asked to speak to another person in his department and he said he couldn't transfer until I had some money to show my interest in fixing the problem.   I also asked if I could see my case on the IRS  website but he said it wouldn't be posted until Monday (today is Friday) after the Sheriff and the local IRS office would be informed and when the Sheriff would show at my place in order to arrest me and take me to court.

I was told that by Monday my driver's license, passport, credit cards (which I don't even have), debit cards, checking account or even social security income (don't have either) would be used to pay for the debt.

I called back and the same Trey guy picked up again - he stated that by noon today I should pay at least $1081 out of the $4327 otherwise the total amount of $11,000 and change would be in place.  I asked for how long the file would be on hold if I was to pay that money, he said that "probably" 30 days.

He said that a 'voucher' would be needed and those are sold at certain facilities in my area (such as Albertson's supermarket and others) he also would be on the phone with me to obtain the voucher number  to stop legal action - I  asked how they could ask for money over the phone when the IRS would require at least a Cashier's Check mailed - I kept asking if other ways to pay would be accepted but he refused them - obviously since debit or credit cards have fraud protection and could be traced back -   so...no question this is a SCAM and I will contact the authorities.   I hope those people are caught and sent to jail where they belong.

This "Sammy Taylor" is one busy little scammer... got 2 calls..one yesterday,Saturday & another one today, Sunday. "Sammy Taylor" stated, in a heavy Indian accent and really fast speech, that I had a "deficiency in my income tax" and said "not to try and disregard" his message. "Sammy" asked that I or my attorney contact them at this number... Gave me some bogus Ref#.... I *67'd and called back only to hear 12 rings and them a beep on an answering machine. At no time did "Sammy" mention he was with the IRS or any Federal agency (at least they are smart enough not to make that mistake... Sounds like a definite SCAM but you still have to worry about unassuming people or the elderly that could be intimidated by the likes of these low-lifes.

If they call back and you actually talk to them and they ask for the number for your lawyer, give them the number for your state's Attorney General Consumer Protection Office and the name of your Attorney General.
