Caller called trying to say they were from the IRS. I told them exactly what I had owed, that I had paid it and had all the receipts to prove that. Asked why I had not received a notice that I under paid and were I made a mistake the person did not know How to respond. He gave me a reference number and started to threaten that I was to be in court. I told him that I would be contacting him tomorrow through the IRS number online and he hung up......Obviously if every one starts calling them out on this scam they will stop.
This number called and left me a "referral number" said it was urgent. I called and they spoken very broken English. Said they wanted the number for my attorney. I kept asking who they were and she said IRS. I don't her I wouldn't give a number out to someone just because they asked. She said, "Well you will be arrested in the morning" and hung up.
Rec'd same message as noted above from supposed "IRS" representative providing a reference code and demanding immeadiate response. Obviously a scam. Can't even speak English and wouldn't be able to even have a conversation without an interpreter. I would assume the IRS would make initial contact by mail. Not losing any sleep on this one.
