I got the same message. When I called the number they said I would be arrested. I told them I was going to call local IRS to find out what was going on, the girl said "go ahead". I spent the entire morning on the phone with the real IRS, and was assured this was a scam. I filed a complaint with the US Treasury Inspector General. When I got home That evening they called me again, and introduced themselves as Internal Revenue Service. (broken english). The first thing I said to them was, "To start this conversation, you are not the IRS", they hung up on me. I have tried to call them back on a couple of different numbers. When they realize who it is they will not talk to me.
Six calls from this number Nov 15- Nov 19 and two messages from "Kevin George" of " tax litigation department."
Messages are difficult to decipher because of Kevin's heavy accent.
Income tax deficiency-itigation- do not disregard this message -a specific case number -are some of the phrases that come through but much more is not understandable.
I got a call from this number as well threatening arrest but they did not ask me for money. I can't undertand what the purpose of this scam is if they are not asking for money.
