Received a call from Sausalito CA and that they were filing charges for my ex-husband in a County in California. He's dead! I would like to see them serve him (of course, it's a SCAM so they won't).The house they are going to serve him at has been raized and obviously he's not at his place of employment nor his residence.
Yup, got the same message left on my voicemail looking for my brother. The message stated there "were several provisional arraignments against him and that he was being served in Orange County." The call ended before she stated any actions, but it was a weird message, which made me look this number up. She had a heavy Jamaican accent - sounded like my tour guide when we visited there.
I have a voicemail from 415-915-8562 that states.... "this is a notification for "my name". my name is Mary Murphy from (mumble mumble) provisional (mumble) services. I have received an order for two allegations to be filed against you immediately with your county clerks office. Unfortunately, this department will be actively pursuing you at your place of employment and your residence. You do have a legal right to resolve this case with the plaintiff out of court. Please understand that once you are located you forfeit that right, You can contact our legal department at 415-993-1133. case # for reference is ######. "My name" you have been officially notified."
Talk about threatening! Completely against the law. 1st off, I do not have any outstanding bills. And second, anyone knows a legit company will not harass you by phone. If they had a legal right to do so they would have to contact you via certified mail and have proof of that. NO MAIL.. nada from me but a headache of them calling all the time. Interestingly, this is the first time they left a message. They have called not only me but my parents house several times. The other number they are calling from is 352-247-7398 FL, USA. This number is 415-915-8562 which is originating from San Francisco CA. I am filing a complaint with the BBB. What good it will do.. I don't know but this is a SCAMMMM!!!
This is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. Many are operating overseas and out of the reach of US law enforcement, while others are operating within the confines of prison cells here in the US, using contraband cell phones. Others are using VOIP. Either way, they are able to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
I just received a similar message except the phone number was an Idaho number. Exact same wording in my voicemail though. I have been getting these calls for years. They never go away. Just when I think they are gone, more pop up. It is quite ridiculous. I won't be calling them back, and once they find me I am out of luck I guess. Haha.
