I think this is what happened! I think Rogers sold their cell numbers as I am surrounded by 3 roger cell phones and all have been harassed with 1 call per day. The telus and Bell haven't been called... yet.
This is a SCAM!!!!! Citynews has featured it. They are trying to sell extended warranties for vehicles and once they have your money they are gone and the warranty means nothing! BE VERY AWARE!!!
I received the call today too..... I've also received it from a U.S number too in the past. They go on to saying your car warranty has expired... blah... blah. It's an american company trying to scam Canadians. It's become a huge problem. Call and complain to your service provider because there must have been a breach in all our records.... If we all complain to our providers just maybe they will become annoyed like us and do something about....... Take care,
You mentioned you received a call from this number twice. When you pressed (2) to be deleted from the call out list- were you contacted again with the same message?
Got one this afternoon. Thankfully I don't pick up unknown numbers. Recently I have been getting different phone calls at about 1:30 or 2 in the afternoon. I've gotten calls with area codes from the states too. I just figure its some scam/telemarketers. Has anyone tried to register on the national do not call list? It's aimed to reduce the amount of telemarketing calls you get sent to your phone (home and mobile). It takes about a month before you start to notice a reduction of calls (or something along those lines)
Also when I saw who was calling, I found it odd that the first three digits after the area code were all zero's. Just beware of calls that is all.
