Receive many phone calls from 1-417-800-2511 asking for Japanese male 18 or above to participate in a studies. My number is unlisted and registered with the 'do-not-call' list. The rep on the phone was unable to clarify how they get my number.

They claim it's a survey to see if you can take part of a clinical trial and malpractice suit in which they'll pay you money. But if you go through it, you need to give them a service fee first before the big bucks start rolling in!
Surveys are exemp. Scams and/or attorneys cold calling for clients for a scam class action suit are not.
Uniden and Panasonic make wonderful call blocking phones and they're inexpensive. They also come with at least one wireless handset. Very handy!!!
These phones also block “Out of Area” and “Private” calls.
Another scammer trying to get around telemarketing laws by posing as a "survey". They are nothing but people trying to steal your money and/ or identity. Don't fall for it!
Attorneys do not solicit for people to join class action suits by telemarketing or do they ask for any types of fees up front.
