This guys accent was so fake I thought it was my Grandson pranking me and my responses totally threw off the caller/scammer. This number currently displays the name Robert Krechel and the "fake Indian-accented con-man" told me hew was from Window Tech Dept (or some such bullshizz) and that I had some virus in my computer that was spreading and I needed to get online immediately with him so he could help me ADD (oh,, I mean "remove" :) it. I eventually just said "this looks very fishy to me so if indeed you are from microsoft/windows then send me something in writing as you should have all my data (including relevant e-mail and standard mail addresses) already and be able to comply with my request without me giving any further information..thank you"..and I hung up..the end.. PEACE!
This is a scam to get you to turn on your computer. I know someone who believed the caller and had their computer all messed up. These people now call me and who knows how many other 1000's of people under my name and number. Yes, probably like this Robert D. Krech, his caller ID name and phone # have been high jacked like mine. I have reported to my phone carrier and the Fed. Gov. but no avail. Hope you don't see your own caller ID and phone # come up on your very own phone.
Received multiple calls from this number and name on caller id, including this morning. Same crap as everyone else here has stated, From Windows Tech, gives me my windows id # and says my computer is infected with Blackshades trojan horse malware, and compromising all my data. Scary sounding stuff, but just BS to get you to go on line with him and end up with him having the control of your computer. Just hang up!!!!! The Blackshades malware does exist and there is an FBI warning listed if you Google Blackshades malware. Here is the direct link to the FBI warning and test to see if your computer has been infected. https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2014/may/int ... -by-blackshades
This is the third call since October 30th. This call came EIGHT MINUTES after the last one. First at 6:30 PM, this one at 6:38 PM, both during our dinner time and we are on the federal and state DO NOT CALL LISTS. I told the first caller that, and he said that if I'm on the DO NOT CALL list, then I don't care about my computer! What gall! When I told the second caller we are on the Do Not Call Lists, she hung up on me. WHEN ARE THESE PEOPLE GOING TO BE STOPPED?
Phone rang about 3 times at 9:35 pm. I did not answer; as I did not recognize caller...and also the time of night. But I did go to my computer to look up number...and like others here said, I suddenly had computer problems...like someone had control of the cursor. I had trouble getting my Internet Security to start a scan. But once I did, I gained control of cursor again. Though scan revealed 2 viruses resolved. I think that's it. Not only will I block; but I will NOT go on line afterward to look up caller. Strange world we live in.
