I answered the call to my cell phone: This is (my name). May I help you? There was a short pause and click with a recording stating that a formal complaint has been made against my name and SSN. I hung up and blocked the number. Definitely a scam to get my personal information.
Received the same recording and voice when I answered the phone to my cell a few weeks ago from (205) 208-8315. It may be a ring of scammers throughout several states.
I restored my credit its been a year and a half, its over 700.. I have applied for cards every 6 months.. no calls, no suits.. I recently applied for a personal loan over $10k.. I had four different calls since applying, all about lawsuits.. and retaining there services to settle this suit, when these companies shop your information to help you receive multiple loans, it's open to people who want to scam you, before you get it.. I shared the credit information cause I never received scam calls with the last 4 of my ss# until now. Which is basically given to loan companies for soft credit pulls, maybe your situation is similar :)
