answered this one today (it has called before). male knew my last name. when I asked who he was, he hung up. using caller id, I called number and a recorded message referred me to www.securestech.net (or at least this is what it sounded like). there is no where on thi swebsite to complain about calls. the site is connected to correctional facilities. baffling and annoying.
I also am on the Do Not Call list, but I answered because I am tired of receiving these calls and was curious what they were going to say. It's obviously a robocall because of the pause after you answer before someone picks up. He seemed to have a hard time remembering which scam he was running that day but eventually said he was with the state troopers association or something similar. Of course, no state mentioned, etc., so I hung up. Simply ridiculous how many of these calls I receive every day on my cell phone.
These SOB's know the names of people they call whether that information is public or private. It's become way to easy to access one's information without his or her consent, and I find this disturbing given the number of criminals out there. Obviously, I, too, got a call (probably many calls but my caller ID is screening them out) from this shady joint. Feel free to add this to your statistics. Not that it will change anything...
Got a call from them this afternoon - answered -- no one there, then got 'fast busy' signal, then a hangup. Called the number back from my Skype account and a recorded message said " you may have received a call from one of the correctional facilities we service". Securis Correctional. and you may also reach us at www.securistech.net (not sure if I spelled it correctly ,as the female voice on recording sounded computer generated. Not sure if this is a legit company or not, but also could be prisoners at one of their facilities calling out to scam people (they somehow have the ability to do this). Maybe someone else can do some research on this company (think they are in Tenn), and post their address, corporate number and how to contact them for complaints (and I sometimes give out these spammers numbers to the other spammers when I call back and get a recorded message, and tell them I'm interested in their offering and to call me back at -- the other scammer number -- that way they can call each other and waste each others time.....
Just received a call on my house phone. Call the number back and says it's a correctional calling service. Considering I work in law enforcement, no one in jail would be calling me. Here's the website the phone number will refer you to: https://securustech.net/friends
It says to block calls you have to set up an account. I stopped before typing in my address because I did not want to provide that much info.
On my orginal call I answered and male subject said something that could not make out and then didn't answer me when I said what and eventually they disconnected.
