that's what they said to me too, but this is like the 3rd person trying to do this it's becoming annoying. I called the number back just to see what they say when they answer and they said that they are the US Treasury.
This caller left a message advising me that I needed to call this number back to avoid being indicted by the grand jury, and convicted of a Federal Crime. FYI- I work for the Federal Courts. I'd know if I was being convicted of something... plus uh hello!~ they TELL YOU WHEN THEY ARREST YOU... never been arrested.

This is a SCAM to get you to send money (you will be asked to provided codes from purchased gift cards and / or personal identification.) Strongly suggest reporting this to the fraud hotline and registering your experience with the GAO. I received two calls two calls from this number in a matter of 10 minutes this AM. The first caller was Caroline Miller and the second was from Steve Martin; both with heavy foreign accents. They both indicated I was in arrears for federal tax returns and was subject to prosecution/imprisonment. I had a similar event occur in July and contacted IRS, Treasury, and Social Security Administration. The IRS/Treasury/Social Security will NOT call you unless you have completed the appropriate government form AND the primary form of contact by these agencies is the US mail.
