that's what they said to me too, but this is like the 3rd person trying to do this it's becoming annoying. I called the number back just to see what they say when they answer and they said that they are the US Treasury.
I also received a call from this jerk today...heavy foreign accent, name was Steve Martin, left me the same message he left everyone else on this chain. I also got several calls from this same character this summer -- last time, I actually engaged with him and called back to tell him off. This time I will not bother, but I wanted to share my experience!
The only way to get served legal documents is via certified/registered mail or via a process server. Not over the phone. I got this call 2x this morning and both went to voicemail. Both were from Steve Martin (heavy foreign accent) and were 42 seconds long saying I was in trouble from US Government. Not going to return the messages.
I also received a call this morning telling me I had to pay $4800.00 from tax year2010 today or if I hanged up there would be police out for my arrest. Also that I had a warrant against me. Also they wouldn't give me no info on why. I was falling for it good thing my husband arrived and took care of it!
