Just block them. It is a scam robocall that is programmed for voice recognition. I wanted to see if it would put a live person on by giving confusing answers to the machine. Instead it jumped past its programmed listings of points and right to asking me how much I wanted to donate. Still have no idea who they are. The machine just hung up instead of getting a live person.
Enjoyed the response of one person who picked up. Listen, then ask, Are you a robot?. They say, No, I am a real person. You say, I don't believe you. ...
Or say, Are you selling shoelaces? Send me four-yellow, red, black, white. They say, Will do, send me $10. You say, When I get them, will send $10. They say, Can't do, gotta have the money first. You say, Can't do, gotta have the shoelaces first. ...
I always check this site to see if anyone else got calls from this number. I take comfort in seeing I'm not alone in this, as I get a LOT of calls like this.
Stupid looking Caller "ID": A California Pal. It had no spaces between letters. They called around dinner time of course, around 6:17 pm on Tuesday night. "ACALIFORNIAPAL". I thought it might mean "PAC" since it's an election year......
Anyway, I never answer calls from ID's I don't recognize. If it's legit, a message will be left on my machine which I can hear.
Also been getting calls from (424) 348-2091. It says "Unknown Name." They never leave a message but it's odd I haven't found posts from others getting calls. So it's just my number.....and I've now blocked them.
I'd never donate to a charity over the phone. They should add "scam" to the drop down menu for call types. I suggested that, but nobody listens to me.
