I was glad to found this link/site to know that this is a SCAM. Why don't the REAL IRS go after this people who scam from ordinary people. If the REAL IRS is watching this chats, please do something about this before more american gets heard. PLEASE...
About 7:12 am (EST), Philly, PA. I got a call with a foreign accent (a bit difficult for me to make out what she was saying). But she was pretty clear that this was from IRS and to request me to call back the phone number 425-214-0746 to speak to officer John Anderson. I surely knew this was a scam. But, I continued with her for a few minutes. She started to repeat the same information. The reason was that IRS "postmailed" me a tax dispute for some tax I owed during 2013 but the tax dispute was resolved more than a month ago. I have got the written closure of this tax dispute. I started to have concern that IRS data might be leaked out to the hands of the scam.
OMG!! I got the same call, saying they are from the IRS, and that I needed to call John Anderson! When I continued to ask her what this is in regard, the girl on the other end told me to "Shut up and go to hell!!"" So obviously a scam!!
We got the call too. 'Sabrina Martin' left a message and since it sounded suspicious, I googled the phone number and learned about the scam. This needs to be reported and these people held accountable.
Just received the same call. I called them and found out that they are from Pakistan and he was so vulgar. He said he works for the company because he have to and that do I have $10,000 to give his company.
Just happened to me, 1/16, Thursday. I questioned the legitimacy of the IRS contacting me in such a way, and the caller became angry and threatened to send over police for my arrest.
