Funny how I googled the phone number and see that others were also wondering if it's a scam! It was an autodial system that told me it was my only chance to lower my interest rate and to dial 1 if I wanted to speak to an agent, so I did. The guy had a strong middle eastern accent. I asked him which credit card he was referring to, and he said it's either a Chase Bank, or Bank of America card. I do not have a credit card with either banks. I asked him if he knew the card number, he gave me a number that didn't match any of my cards. I then asked him if he has my name, he said yes, hold on, then the call was mysteriously disconnected.
Got this call 3 times today. I keep telling them I'm not interested, but they called back anyway. The guy thought I was stupid enough to give him my WHOLE credit card number on a call that he made to me. My credit card company has NEVER called my cell phone unless they suspected fraudulent charges. Like others mentioned, they were rude, persistent and down right annoying. I told him he was nuts if he thoughts I was giving up that info.
Then, the most insulting part was, he tried to convince me that my whole credit card number shows in the window of my credit card will when it comes in the mail. My whole number is not even on the non-viewable portion. He's a complete IDIOT!
On top of all that, he started by basically guessing at what credit cards I have. Whew! What a nut!
I to just received this phone #. Sounded like a very poor connection. Also, it was initiated by an autodialer message first from number 619-801-2309. Did not leave message and hung up when I complained about not being able to understand him...
Got a scam from this number too...first called me to tell me he would lower my interest rate and represented mulitple banks...advised that i woudl have to contact my bank first. Wells Fargo does not use an outside service! DO NOT GIVE THIS PERSON INFORMATION. Called me yesterday from a San Diego number and today from a Washington one
