Got this call 3 times today. I keep telling them I'm not interested, but they called back anyway. The guy thought I was stupid enough to give him my WHOLE credit card number on a call that he made to me. My credit card company has NEVER called my cell phone unless they suspected fraudulent charges. Like others mentioned, they were rude, persistent and down right annoying. I told him he was nuts if he thoughts I was giving up that info.
Then, the most insulting part was, he tried to convince me that my whole credit card number shows in the window of my credit card will when it comes in the mail. My whole number is not even on the non-viewable portion. He's a complete IDIOT!
On top of all that, he started by basically guessing at what credit cards I have. Whew! What a nut!
Called me as well. Did not answer as I didn't recognize the number. I just assume any call from outside my address book is a scam nowadays. If it's important, they'll leave a message. :)
I got the same spam call from this number. I told them I am not interested and immediately googled! Thanks all for reporting this. I am sharing this on my social network too!
I used to work for a Credit Card Billing service and this is what I learned.
All Visas Start with a 4. All Master Cards a 5. Discover a 6 and Amex usually a 3.
When these guys call you they say their calling in regards to your Visa or Mastercard staring with a 4. People who don't know will actually ask info back like "Do you mean my chase card, or my Merrick bank Visa etc. Once they have that info its as easy as saying yes that one. Currently your interest rate is quite high and we want to lower it to 6-7% is how the conversation continues. Please confirm your CC number blah blah blah.
This is a scam.
Please also note that certain banks do have a block of numbers for their credit cards. If you tell them the bank of your credit card they can sometimes figure out the first 8012 numbers as the block. All that leaves is for you to tell them the last 4 as a confirmation like when we give the last 4 of our Social number or the bank teller asks us to confirm last 4.

You cannot block unwanted calls, but you can track them. If I get a call from an unknown number, I don't answer the call until I google the number. If the number comes up (as in this case), I enter the number into a contact on my mobile phone call "Ignore Me." I create a new phone category with some id info, and when they call back I just ignore the call.
Saw this number come up just now on my home phone and didn't answer. They hung up when the message came on. Immediately got the same number calling my cell phone. They disconnected as soon as I said hello. Both of my phone numbers are registered on the "do not call' list, and I do not typically ever get spam callers on my cell phone. I entered this number into my contacts as "phishing", so I'll know not to answer it in the future.
