Strung along this number for a while, takes you to a c drive that shows when has some trouble connecting to the internet (standard occurance in some home accesses) to try to prove that you system is going to collapse, tells you to go to www.supportwindows.tk. The page is for an outfit called ComputerSupport that wants to take your money. The person on the phone tried to get me to save their software -- that would give them remote access to my computer. That's where I stopped playing along. Shame on them. Their grandmothers should have inflicted on them what they try to inflict on others.
OK, now this is getting weird. I got a call from this number, and from 971-217-9508, both of which are getting reputations on 800notes as the same computer hacking scam. I got a call from a Tony Ortiz with a Brooklyn accent, who is trying to "sell" my timeshare to his company for full price. Well over $15,000 he says at current market value, when the same thing can be bought on ebay all day long for around $1000. He claims to be with "Urban Eden Properties" in St. Petersburg, Fl.
Dont fall for this!! It is a scam to get personal information!! I just got another call from them, but they called me almost a year ago and I finally hung up and called an IT company to check it out. They said it was a total scam. They can get your personal info and destroy your computer.
Tried to scam me this morning, I strung him along for 10 min. He got mad and started calling me names lol. Then some Asian sounding lady got on the phone and started yelling at me. My wife and I where in tears laughing until they got so mad they Hung up.
I just recieved a call from this number (425) 406-9022. He was not of american desent, more middle eastern. He asked me if I was the owner of this number, and I ask "why", who are you? He told me he was from the Federal Grant Program and I was awarded money. I told him point blank that he is not from the Federal Grant Program. Then I asked him what the name of the Grant Program was, and he said, "you know, like the Federal Grant Program". I instructed him that he had better not ever call this number again, and that I would be reporting his number and his scam to authorities. I told him he had better take my number off his scammers list. Then he hung up!
