This number has called my phone a lot in the past few weeks. I answered it once and it was a guy asking me to renew my AAA with him and to give me a credit card.. I didn't said no thanks. He was not happy. Just got 3 more calls today from the number....
Called yesterday and left a message. Younger sounding man said they were following up with a AAA Insurance quote that I had requested. I haven't requested an insurance quote in 3 months, and can't remember if I even requested one from AAA. I didn't call back.
there is a sophisticated group of people. they spoof their number to be citi bank, AAA, or any company. the call you to probe you to strip enough personal information to build a profile essentially commiting fraud.
very sharp people. one time they called me saying they wanted to tell me about new laws and regulations regarding my credit card. they asked for my zip code to confirm my identity. once they have that and my credit card number they can use it. they get the information from everywhere. none of your information is safe with any company.
