I received a call yesterday stating I had to be in court by noon. I received no information as to why, and they said that I was being sued for 'theft of merchandise". It was really weird too. I vaguely remember having a discover card, and if I did it was well over ten years ago. Seems like they are buying very old debt and threatening to get you to pay based on fear. I never have received contact other than this from anyone about an old account. Heck, it isn't even on my credit report.
The company name is Zinco and assoc and they claim to be a debt collector for very old debt. Spoke with Mr. Lee Very rude claiming that they can take my tax refund. You have to go to court prior to them just taking your tax refund. He hung up on me after I told him federal law requires that they contact me by us mail prior to me paying them any money. -- Yall beware these companies desperate to make money off old debt are trying to make peoples life a nightmare.
I got a call today from 469-646-4015, and I spoke to 2 women there and a man, all gruff, nasty, bullying, and the man I spoke to there called me back from 469-899-8919 and left a threatening, false, and intimidating voicemail. The ladies had said I owed money due to a Chase account dating back to 2004, and the man left a voicemail saying his client was Amerisave. All three people were bullying, hostile, talking over me, not wanting to answer my questions, belittling me, refusing to answer some questions or spell their company name, talking about attorneys and filing complaints and ruining my credit and liens....They were totally unprofessional and trying to instill fear and terror. The man said he was with a company that sounded like "Zinco," but he would not spell it for me and berated me incessantly. He told me I would need an attorney, and he had my husband's name, which he used to try to further intimidate me in his voicemail. They also used the name of my county at the outset of the first call when discussing the lien to make it sound more real and threatening, blew off any comments I tried to make about not having any notice or getting any bills, the man particularly telling me I didn't know how these things work and wanting to have my attorney's information. I don't know who these people really are. I was at work and very flustered by the extreme nasty nature of these people.
A woman called said they had a picture of my huband getting gas in a vehicle using a credit card, funny part it's that we haven't sold that car like 5 years ago and it's not even in the state where we live now?? that we owe money on that credit card and that they are coming to get our property. Husband told them we owe nothing and that he needed to have their contact information so we could send it to our attorney, they hanged up, 2 minutes later a man called from the same number and said " stay away from your property and car" and he hanged up. Weird part it's that the vehicle they said we had it's a really unique one, I just ran the VIN and it's no longer in our name ( I figure so but wanted to make sure) so I wonder who these people got our information?
