Received call "Card Holder Services". Pressed 1 to speak to customer support person and when I said I was interested in reducing my credit card interest rate, he said, "Nice try [***] and hung up on me. I wanted to play with them for a while but he didn't want to play. Funny thing is I don't even have a credit card.
Have received 8 calls from them today. I do not answer when there is a number I do not recognize.
Have signed up more than once for Do No Call Registry but apparently it is a waste of time since calls
like this come through all the time.
A decidedly male robovoice claimed to be "Debbie". I pressed 1 to speak to a representative. I strung him along playing dumb - probably for a good three minutes. Finally I told him I was deliberately wasting his time and would do so every time I received such a call.
Just received the call from "card holder services" and when I pressed '1' to tell them I was on the DO NOT CALL list, he said "so you don't want to take advantage of lower interest rates?". I said I don't have any credit cards. He said "really? are you just saying that so I don't call anymore or do you really not have any?" To which I replied, "I don't have any, but I also don't want you to call again".
"OH, so you DO want me to call you?" what???
"NO, I said I DO NOT want you to call me"
"okay, ma'am. you don't have to yell at me. I'm just trying to help."
"I'm not yelling, I'm being clear."
and here's the kicker: "okay. you know, it's really sexy when a woman has an attitude--"
