Our number they call has been converted to our FAX number! It's the one given when anybody we don't know wants a number to call, or share with others... who we don't want to hear from. They can call all they want and unless it's important enough to send a FAX... 'nuff sed!
Our secondary number is the cell phones. They can easily be programmed to reject an unwanted caller.
Just received a call from a Courtney asking me to donate $30 or $50 or the "big" one, and when I told her that it all depended on my pay period she lowered the request to $25, and that she would transfer the call to the donation department so I could give my pledge. I asked her if she had my mailing address so she could send me the paperwork in the mail, and she hesitated not knowing what to respond, and then went on to say "of course". I asked her to repeat it to me, and she went on rambling about transferring me to the donation department. I kept trying to interrupt her to ask her to repeat what breast organization she was calling me from, and she kept talking not stop (I don't recall her taking a breath), and "transferred" me to that department, and it was HER voice that pretended to be the person in the donation department. When she asked me how much I was going to pledge I told her that I was doing nothing over the phone...suddenly all was silent...so I hung up. LOL!!!! Time to let Joe Ducey with Ch 15 know about this scam!
Constant calls from the # (and a few others they are using as well). Never leaves a message. When you do answer, they are extremely demanding for an immediate donation (per my wife). FOLKS, DO NOT let these tactics succeed. Just say NO (or do not answer the phone).
They have started up again. Usually ignore but, picked up once and silence for about 5 sec before hung up. I have a VOPT service and from now on they will get a number in error message instead of bothering me with phone ringing.
The woman starts off with "you're harder to get hold of................". she knows my first name. Tonight was the third time.
I had cancer last year, but NOT breast cancer.
