Rang unlisted mobile phone. Left no message. Some posters here say they called back and got a recorded message. If so, it means the number is not spoofed. But, the number may be a "blind box" such as those with google voice. If EVERY ONE would file a complaint with the FCC, http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , which takes about 5 minutes on line, I'll wager that $1500 "penalty" that nothing will change. It is so frustrating that once a phone number gets on one list, it gets on many lists, which is why we who post here see familiar poster names with frequency.
I received the call with a recording saying, "This is John from Political Opinions of America". They wanted me to do a quick survey about the economy and I'd receive a free 2 day cruise to the Bahamas. I did the survey, 3 multiple choice questions, than I was connected to a 'travel specialist'. He said that he was from Caribbean Cruise Line, out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He told me that they were a new company to South Florida and strictly relies on word of mouth only and found the best way to do that was by doing the political survey. "They like to keep the cruises full at all times." He told me I would receive a FREE 2 day/2night cruise to Grand Bahama Island, and I'd ONLY have to pay the $59/per person port charges.
Than proceeded to ask for my credit card information. I don't think so ... you should NEVER give your credit card information over the phone when YOU DID NOT initiate the call. I found it very interesting that there was no other way for me to get around giving my cc info today, when I asked for their phone # to call back, he wouldn't give me a number, but instead told me I could look up their website online.
This was my 3rd call from Political Opinions of America. The 1st two were from Anne at 213-438-9366. I figured it might be a scam, but I wanted to see how far it went.
