That's NOT true. Those companies will tell you the same thing, too. Look CLOSELY at the FTC code, and it does NOT say "research" companies are exempt. If you want to get specific - they'r soliciting for information. But in fact... government surveys and non-profit research are the ONLY exempt! I went head to head with a research CEO, and finally conceded I was correct.
called about some stupid survey, I told her to get a real job and hung up on her then put her number on my call block list. I'm on the do not call list but law enforcement has no interest in enforcing law.
I hate these people. They have a number and an email address on their website to be added to their own Do Not Call list but it is pointless. I called and emailed to be taken off and still get called all the time.
our call came at 6pm..a survey person asked/recorded comments we made re: QWEST's customer service. ...this person said QWEST requested "them" to gather opinions re: QWEST's service..didn't ask who "them" was...if you use QWEST you know why customers leave and go to COX for phone, cable and internet services ....*69 confirmed this number
called by "flake Wilkerson" but was a hang up. I called Qwest and they stated that they do not call for survey nor contract any other company to call on their behalf.
