If I have time I have fun. I develop software and frequently have time on my hands while the system is running a compile. If "John" happens to call, fairly frequently, I listen and press 1. Then I leave the talker on the speaker until they finish. Then I spin a yarn. Tonight after we discussed the system and its features, I told him I thought it was a great idea. He took down my address, etc. all made up.
Then I told him I lived in a nursing home, had for years. He'd have to call the director of the home to get payment authorization. He asked me for a credit card, then a checking account number, I told him I didn't need any of those as the home took care of all my bills.
I must have kept the poor [***] on the phone for close to 30 minutes, thinking he made a sale. The I thanked him, told him to make arrangements for payment with the director, and said "Gotta go now, bye!"
If everybody, or even a few, did this every chance they get, these guys would probably give up. Anyway, at least you get a laugh. The more of their time we can waste the better it is for everyone.
John from shipping wanting to deliver a medical alert system. Said it was already paid for by someone.Perhaps family or someone else.Kept repeating this after I told him I had already checked on this and it was a scam.He said press 1 if you want it and I didn't press anything ,just hung up.
A person by the name of John with medical alerts system is calling repeatedly. He will not let you say a word. He continually rambles on and on and on about the medical alert system. He tells me someone has fallen in my home, and I am to get this free. Please make these calls stop.
859 469 4341 I just entered another post about the same thing. There must be two numbers. John saying we have a free medical alert system. He wants to know how to ship this. We have not ordered anything. He will not let you talk at all. He just completely talks and talks and talks, and these calls are annoying. Please make them stop.
I've just gotten another call from this number, caller ID said "Frankfort, KY". I didn't pick up, and I"m glad - I've talked to "John" once, a month or two ago. The guy is a complete jerk. Best bet is to just hang up - or better yet, to have Caller ID and never answer calls from anyone you don't know. If it's legit, they'll leave a message.
We have gotten calls from this same number from Frankfort. I answered once and it was about the medical device. I hung up and now we don't even answer but they continue to call.
