The caller from CR Systems, Kim Young, was polite. However, the conversation seemed peculiar and was similar to many other conversations recorded here. She searched relatives of my mother and somehow found my telephone number. I actually am not sure if Young knew my name though. She kept stressing that I get her message and number (508) 553-1906 to my mother and that this was a personal matter that may become legal.
i agree to a point that if someone has an unpaid balance and has not paid it then they have created the problem, and they need to fix the problem. The issue at hand here is the blatant abuse of state and federal laws. these maggots have no right to call third parties, and they have no right to harass you or ANY other family members. Also, debt collectors must treat you with truth, fairness, dignity and respect. If they don't you have a right to make a claim for up to $1,000 in statutory damages against them, plus you will get your attorneys fees and costs paid by them if you win. In order to stop these pieces of SH*T from stomping all over the laws, pay the bill (dont pay CRS. try to pay the debt off with the original company) If you think they have violated the laws, goto www.naca.net to find a consumer lawyer in your area, and sue the pants off Ron Bates, Robert Bates and all the other *sswipes that work for that company.
In regards to "they have no right to call third parties" please read an earlier posting in this thread. or do some real research. the law is known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA for short). It specifically states that a debt collector MAY contact ANYONE including FRIENDS, FAMILY, and or know or suspected associates in order to reach you. They only thing in this regard they may not do is say they are trying to reach you because you owe them money.
I have received a few calls from this number. Today, I returned them to have completely inappropriate business practices take place (comments, improper practices, etc.) BEWARE!
Sean Morris was the gentleman I spoke to. Rude, accusing, and a downright arrogant, ignorant jack***. I told him he had just cost himself a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. He hung up. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU RECEIVE MORE OF THESE CALLS, YOU DO THE SAME (THREATEN OR ACTUALLY COMPLAIN to their local chapter - i.e. Boston, MA). www.bbb.org
If you have any interest, log in to that site (Better Business Bureau) and enter their phone number. You will see it says they rated an "F" on the BBB grade sheet and says the following regarding complaints:
1 regarding Customer Service Issues
1 regarding Inappropriate behavior by customer service personnel"
It says they may not have proper licensing, says only 1 person works there, they have an improper mailing address, etc. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. BEWARE!
Yeah F--k you, why should I have to put up with receiving calls about my neighbor that moved away months ago. Maybe they should learn to listen it's not my job to contact my neighbor about her bills.
