Caller id said Dir Assist MA. When I answered 'Nicole' asked for me or my wife by name. When I asked, "Who wants to know?" she said she wanted to know if we wanted our flue cleaned. When I told her we were on the DNC list, phone call went silent.... I will report them.
I got a call from 508-555-6769 today. They asked me if I wanted my chimney cleaned. It just so happens I was scammed by a chimney cleaning company over the summer, and I am taking them to small claims court soon.
Chimney company. Said that they were going to be in my area doing furnace cleaning on my block. Um, okay. Told them i wasn't interested and then they called me by my maiden last name. I've been married for 10 years. Scam.
Called me by last name. Claimed to be affiliated with local fire department and wanted to clean chimney or furnace...when I began to speak, caller became verbally abusive towards me when he could tell I was about to say no. Clearly a NY or NJ accent. Minimum wage telemarketer...what a joke.
Just got call from "Tommy the Chimney Guy" that started with a guy singing about worms in his brain. Thought it was a loonie, but then he asked for me by name & address. Said he wanted to clean my chimney since he would be in the area. I don't have a chimney. Told him so & he told me to "die you F#$%ing dumb c*&t". *69 brought up 508-555-6769. That area code is Worchester Mass. Would love to complain to a higher authority, but where? Good luck, everyone.
Appreciate the heads-up on this company from notes above. I have learned not to answer unknown numbers on caller id because there is so much robot-calling and data mining of people at home that can simply be logged as live phone responders; if there's no message on voice mail and no recognizable id on googling the number - safest to ignore.
Wretched situation that's become a norm.
