Recd call from 508-774-9885 and its a recording saying "" don't hung up this is not a solicitatiin call. And what there tryn to sell u is meds that ur insurance can cover for pain relieved...
African-American accent and mannerisms. Providing my (false) information took some time, as she wouldn't get it right the first, second, or even the third time. She inverted the common "Blue Cross / Blue Shield", and sputtered away on other questions when I asked about VA coverage. After she collected all the data, she said a "doctor" would be calling me within 72 hours (I tried to escalate it by saying I was going on a trip in a few hours). I asked where she was calling from (to determine the time there), and she said "Washington".
She seemed to acknowledge that it was Washington State, but reported that it was almost 2 PM (more like Washington DC). Whenever I asked which city, she would say that I was "breaking up". After a few minutes acting like she couldn't hear me, she terminated the call.
I have rec'd 4 calls from this number (American Pain Association, apparently, from what the recording said). I've never listened long enough to know what they're selling. It's a pain the in the [***], especially since it's both on my land line and cell phone.
Uh David? Wake up to the real world. It doesn't cost these people ANYTHING other than a minute amount of electricity if you ignore their calls. And getting them to hang up immediately is almost as bad. You really are so foolish as to think they won't call back?
The ONLY want to limit this at all is to make them work at it, and make them work for nothing. Demoralize them also if possible. Keep them on the phone for as long as you can and don't give them any info.
They really aren't selling anything to anyone, no matter what they say. They are STEALING you INFO. Don't tell them anything truthful, but waste their time. Make it a challenge to keep them on the line as long as possible. My personal record is 22 minutes!
I received a call on my cell phone from 508-774-9885. I did not answer. Why don't the phone companies or cell phone carriers block these calls from known scammers?
