call came from Ohio, and I let it go to voicemail since I don't know anyone in Ohio. They said they had received a fax complaint against me and they would be serving me at my home or my work, Left a Washington state number 509-620-9010, and a case file number. When I tried to return their call it said the number was not available to receive calls. I have had this cell number for less than a week...smells a little fishy to me!! Never give their company name or even who they might represent. Final words of the message were: "You have been notified".
I had two messages left by this number which cut off after stating that I was notified. Today they left a message with a case number. I called and they said they were CR & Associates. I was transferred to a young lady who spoke like she was drunk. "Ah yeah, my dad has a warrant out and I am trying to contact you." I said who are you and she said she was his daughter. I asked what her dad's name was and she just went into another drawled out rant about a warrant. I asked to have the number they are calling removed from the list because it is wasting my time dealing with their fraud. I also told her to get a job because this isn't a good thing to do. She told me she has a "real job you dumb n****r" and hung up. These people do not care that they are perpetrating fraud. They are, however, in the US and can be persecuted if they get caught. I hope they do. Do not give them any information or money. Do not be parted with you money on some sob story about your child, father, mother, husband, wife, etc. being caught up in an arrest. Total waste of space and energy when they could be doing so much good for the community.
The same exact thing is happening to me. They are harrassing me at work they called 4 times in a 30 minute period. How can I get them to stop calling me.
They called and it was a recording. The call came in on our phone system at work so by the time it routed its way to my department the recording was half over. I verified the phone they wanted me the call back to go to...same as the one on my caller i.d....and I wrote down the "case number" they claimed they had. Called them back and as soon as I said "you called a business" the person on the other end hung up. When I tried to call back, they put me on hold and then kept hitting the hold button until I was cut-off again. I called back several times, just to tie up their phone and same thing...they must have caller i.d. as well. Anyway, they threw me into voicemail so I just put the phone on hold to use up all their voicemail space.
They are just total scammers and it's not even a real collection company. I know that the company I work for doesn't owe any money.
