Its amazing that Microsoft can't fix this scam from crooks claiming to be from Microsoft calling to fix my Microsoft Windows computer. THis tells you how supportive Microsoft is to its customers. All it takes is a simple app that one invokes during the scam call to enable the US Gov't to trace these calls, break the doors down to these call centers and fill everyone of the scam artists with loads of 5.56 cal rounds so they never call again. As an alternative, a tactical Tomahawk would do just fine. Thanks Microsoft for supporting these scam artists. You and Bill Gates should be ashamed you've done nothing to prevent this identity theft scam. BTW - I switched to Linux last month - forever! Mint.

Um ... not really!
(Unless you want Big Brother to monitor all your calls ... and think of the cost of that!)
Please keep up with the news, rather than make specious statements.
The FTC and top communications companies met several times, to determine what they can do to stop robocalls and other illegal calls. Here is a link to a page showing the history and conclusions of various initiatives, as well as links to recent Congressional bills and Industry Implementations.

(I strongly suggest you access the above page, and read the history and progress of
H.R.2669 - Anti-Spoofing Act of 2015
and
S.2558 - Spoofing Prevention Act of 2016
to learn how [slowly] bills progress through our Congressional system, even when there is bilateral agreement that something should be done.)
