Received a NY area code number and as I didn't recognize it, I allowed it to go to voice mail. I got 1/2 the message, starting with "magistrate or grand jury . . .", so this must be a recording or an idiot that spoke over the recording inviting people to leave a message. I'm guessing subcontinental Asia is the origin of this call. The accent was heavily influenced by British English.
They left a message indicating that they are from the "United States Treasury". When I called back from a different number, they asked if they left the message on the number I was calling from. I indicated it was not and that I was not going to give them any personal information without getting clarification whether this was a legitimate number associated with the US Treasury. The voice on the other line was an Indian male voice. He basically told me to "shut up and don't call this number". That doesn't sound like something that a legitimate person working for the US Treasury would say.
They even left a message. This is the google voice transcription. And yes it is nonsense.
